13 For you formed my inward parts;
you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.[a]
Wonderful are your works;
my soul knows it very well.
As Lutheran Christians, we believe that all human life is a gift of God. Sadly, in our nation today there are increasing assaults against our Lord’s precious gift of life. Our country is becoming a culture of death. As Christians we are called to speak God’s truth in love to the world, as well as advocate for life and serve our neighbor. In order to address this fact, on October 30th 2019, President Timothy Scharr has refocused the Southern Illinois District’s commitment to life issues with the creation of The Advocates for Life Team.
Our team’s vision is a world that affirms God given life from conception to natural death. Relying on Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, our team’s mission is to provide district churches with information regarding the unique challenges in Illinois as well as make resources available to support God given pro-life values. Our team’s goal is to connect district churches, pastors, schools and church workers with life affirming resources and events. We endeavor, with the help of Jesus Christ, to advocate for life and serve our neighbor.
